Villa Mawhata

Set at the top of a hill 800 feet above sea level, the villa is a house of 9,000 sqft, surrounded by an 8 acre working tea plantation and luxuriant tropical gardens with exotic flowers and trees.
 
The residence has extensive living and dining areas, six double bedrooms, as well as a large 53ft x 18ft shaped infinity pool, with loungers and parasols.
 
Accommodation laid out as follows:
Living/eating
An open kitchen and dining area covers a space of 45ft x 27ft. The kitchen, which takes most of the space, has a massive island of 7ft x 15ft with bar stools while the dining area is open sided with a dining table for 16 and offering a stunning view of the Indian Ocean.
 
The living room, of 40ft x 30ft, is divided between a warm and welcoming seating area, complete with a massive Javanese coffee table with Western-style sofas and chairs, and a partially open space offering views of the skies with a large tree growing up through the roof in a rock orchid garden.
 
You will also find in the living area a verandah, furnished with polished titanium bench sofas encircled by a fish pond filled with water lilies, which gives views of the jungle over the tea plantation. A terrace overlooking the sea can be found as well, with colonial planters’ chairs and 3 cane sofas.
 
You will also get the chance to enjoy sundown drinks and private sun worshipping on the 15ft x 25ft roof terrace situated on the far end.
 
From the main central living space down steps, an air conditioned 25ft x 15ft TV/study room awaits, furnished with lounging sofas and an extensive library of DVDs and box sets.
 
The master suite is situated further down, with a vast open-air bathroom equipped with two showers, basins, toilets and a molded stone bath, and featuring the natural rocks and flowering shrubs.
 
Also, in the “l” shaped air conditioned master bedroom, which has a 7ft x 6,6ft bed, you will find a 20ft x 14ft sitting area with sofa, two armchairs and another TV/DVD. You will also find in this master bedroom windows to three sides and doors leading through to a verandah and the swimming pool situated a few steps away.
 
Equipped with top quality furniture and fittings, the villa has Wi-Fi and a sono music system.
 
Staff, composed of 7 persons, is at your disposal, dedicated to make your stay an enjoyable one in all ways.
 
One by-product of the open air design is that rain does get in, and the lovely looking polished floors when wet are very slippery.
