Villa Astrala is tucked away in a lesser known part of Tuscany, undiscovered by crowds of tourists, on the outskirts of the medieval village of Montelopio. Situated where the provinces of Pisa, Siena and Florence meet, the property is idyllically located in an exceptionally beautiful, lush and varied landscape dotted with olive groves, vines, fields of wheat and sunflowers and woodlands abounding in wild fauna. This traditional 1800 Tuscan farmhouse, which was converted with great attention to detail by the owners, can hosts up to 11 persons. It is a perfect place for an incredible holiday in Tuscany.

Indoors
This house of 250 square metres spread over two floors, was beautifully renovated. Original features, such as the terra cotta flooring, chestnut wooden beams and stone walls enhance the modern restoration to provide a comfortable environment.
On the ground floor there is:
A fully equipped built-in kitchen (with a full range of modern appliances and utility cupboard), a furnished living room (with a large table, sofas, armchairs and satellite TV), a spacious lounge enhanced by an original rustic fireplace (surrounded by sofas, armchairs and satellite TV), a bathroom equipped for the disabled, a double bedroom (or twin beds) with en suite bathroom.
The kitchen and living room open out to a porch sheltered by a wrought iron pergola where visitors can enjoy meals or simply relax on comfortable sofas.
A stone and wrought iron staircase leads to the first floor where there is :
Two doubles (or twin beds and which can be transformed into triples ) and one double bedroom ( a single bed can be added in this room) with en-suite bathrooms, open fireplaces, TV and a built- in cupboards.
A spiral staircase leads to the “dovecote”, a tower which looms from the centre of the roof converted into a comfortable lounge offering a 360° panoramic view of the hilly landscape.
The entire villa is also equipped with an on-floor heating and air conditioning system, independently adjustable from each compartment.
Outdoors
The villa is surrounded by a spacious 5.000 square metres garden, landscaped with traditional Tuscan flora, enclosed by an electric fence and Mediterranean shrub hedges to ensure total privacy and a sheltered parking.
The grounds provide ample leisure facilities.
Guests can for example appreciate the small rustic style hut open on 3 sides, with barbecue and equipped for preparing meals.
They can also enjoy the beautiful pool with (15 x 5 metres and a depth from 40cm to 150 cm), with Roman spa steps leading into the pool and a hydro-massage zone. Visitors just has to push the button to release the water jets for a soothing lower back and neck massage. Three sides of the pool are decorated with flowers and the fourth with a small waterfall where the water is only 40 cm in depth and therefore ideal for children. The pool area also features a solarium with sun beds, chairs and small tables for those who prefer to bask in the sunshine, and a wrought iron sheltered gazebo with sofas and armchairs for those who prefer the shade.
Staff & Services
The price includes the villa's facilities, a cleaning service for the outdoor spaces twice a week (garden, pool, etc..), the final housekeeping, a wine tasting, six wine bottles and a complete Tuscan light welcome snack (based on several drinks, platter of mixed cold cuts and cheese and other typical Tuscan fresh products).
The villa also offers its guests the possibility of additional services (on request), such as air-conditioning, pets allowed (€ 50,00 for week), international or national breakfast service, additional bed, extra change of linen, a midweek housekeeping, chef services, traditional Tuscan evening meal, sale of fresh products every morning (bread, pizza, pizza bread, cakes, croissant etc.), food and wine tours, horse riding excursions, golf, tennis, spa, art and Italian language courses, cooking courses, guided visits and excursions...
Location
The property is located on a hill 150 meters above sea level, surrounded by cypress trees, vineyards woods, olive groves and wheat fields.
Situated where the provinces of Pisa, Siena and Florence meet, the Villa is just a short distance from the well preserved historical towns of San Gimignano and Volterra. The village of Montelopio with its ancient history, is about 1 km away. Lucca is 49km away and Monteriggioni is 59km away.
Although the Villa is situated in the open countryside there is a restaurant nearby (just 500 m) which visitors could walk to and savour traditional Tuscan cuisine.
More restaurants, a few shops, cafés, a bank, a post office, a chemist and a doctor are a few km away and at Peccioli there is a supermarket and interesting shops.
Guests will have easy access to all amenities and various activities (Tennis-7 km, Golf Club Castelfalfi - 12 km, horse riding - 4 km, spa - 15 km, museums and prehistoric park - 7 km, observatory - 4 km, doctor/pharmacy /bank /post office - 3 km, clinic - 8 km, Carabinieri - 7 Km, Church - 2 km...).
The villas are 6 km from Lajatico, where it is possible to visit Andrea Bocelli's "Teatro del Silenzio", a place where every year in July the famous singer organizes a concert, in which all the international personalities are present.
